An AGA is a cast-iron range cooker that cooks with gentle, radiant heat. Food cooks evenly and stays moist, and the cooker gives off a background warmth that makes the kitchen the heart of the home.

AGA has given its collections clearer, more descriptive names – Classic, Signature, Compact and Mini – in place of the old model codes (R7, eR7, eR3 and AGA 60). The cookers themselves are unchanged – only the names are new, so anything you've read about the eR7, for instance, applies just as well to what's now the AGA Signature. Read more in our recent article about the new AGA collection names.

You don't have to leave a modern AGA on all the time – today's electric models are much more flexible. You can choose to run it like a traditional AGA, leave it on slumber for gentle warmth, or switch it off and programme the ovens to come on only when you need them, like a conventional cooker.

When you buy from us, we take care of the site survey, getting the cooker into your kitchen – however awkward the access – any kitchen adjustments, and coordinating with your renovation, and if you're replacing an old AGA we remove it and send it back to be recycled. The one job that can sometimes cost extra is removing an old concrete plinth and levelling the floor beneath it – if that applies to your kitchen, we'll always tell you upfront.
