Strawberry & Banana Milkshake

Posted on March 21, 2015

I LOVE this recipe (if I can even call it a recipe...more like three things whizzed together). It's perfect for little people - and big people too - as it feels like a very decadent treat but actually is just fruit and milk.

You'll need:

frozen banana chunks

I don't really have quantities as I tend to just bung a handful of each fruit in my magimix and take it from there.

It's important your banana is frozen as that's what makes this milkshake so thick and luscious although do be warned the sound of food processor blades crushing the frozen banana will wake even the most sound asleep baby (that's the voice of experience there).

Once your banana and strawberries are mixed together add milk to loosen the mix to your desired milkshake consistency. We go for so thick you can hardly suck it through the straw.

As a side note I tend to be fairly freezer happy with the bananas in our house and the minute I think they're even slightly on the turn I chop them into chunks and throw them in a freezer bag. They can be used for a multitude of things from this milkshake to thawed and added to pancake batter, banana bread and smoothies.
